Now, somehow, we gotta get you guys over onto .... County's gen-site so
that you can show 'em how it's supposed to look.
  They got very little in the way of real genealogy help.

Thanks for your letter. Yes, you certainly are in the middle of the
trash mail
from the many candidates.

You have hit the right track for your Gray and Woodward.
My first wife was (is) Elaine Teisberg (Thompson). She is the one you
want.
She lives at 1229 S. 7th, Apt 1,  Sheboygan WIsconsin 53081.
Call her at 920-457-6271.

She was here last summer, and I got her to record a number of things
she remembers
from her Babbington - Gray - Woodward background. She put things into
PAF3 here,
and I see the direct connections.

I remember visiting her mothers family a few times, in Chicago.
Not until my PRESENT wife, Barbara, did I get interested in
Genealogy.
She (and now I) are LDS people working hard at family history.
So I didn't absorb much in Chicago.

Subject: Thomas J. Jackson
My Great-Great Grandfather was Thomas J. Jackson who obtained a
320-acre land claim in 1847 just South of Scappoose at the present site
of the Fairview Cemetery. The cemetery is on the northwest corner of
his land claim. Jackson Creek crosses his land claim.

The problem is that Thomas died of smallpox in 1853, his property
passed to his daughters & was subsequently divided up among others.

I have a  map of his land claim showing the location of a headstone.
But we were told the grave cannot be located?

If you have any records that old which might show anything about Thomas
J. Jackson, I can send you what I have as a basis for looking (If you
will give me your mailing address). I do have some information from his
will which was given to me by a relative.

I'm researching my grandfather Kramlich's family and a newspaper article
lists his brother John Kramlich's golden anniversary in Clatskanie,
Oregon. I am interested in finding an obit or family member who may
still be living in the area.  John was born in South Russia on 1 Dec.
1884.  The family emigrated to the Dakota's and then on to  Colville,
Wash,. He moved to Clatshanie in 1949 and the Social Security index
say's he died in Oct 1974. I don't know the last name of his wife.

The name of the Library  or Geneology society,  if they do lookups in
the area would be a great help. I have some of his brothers brief
historys and would be willing the share, also a photo of the family

As you come North, you will pass Scappoose. Carry on to about Milepost 26,
last road before
Bennett (which is my road) is CHURCH.   Cem is one short block off Hwy 30
Then you pass Bennett Road - my wife Barbara is a Bennett. Homestead 110
years or more now.
On to RAINIER, go thru town and UP THE LONG HILL, not turning on to the
Longview Bridge.\
FIRST LEFT TURN AT THE TOP OF THE HILL. 1/4 mile to 3 cemeteries,
Woodbine, Green Mountain and Hudson.

After that cem, you will pass the compiler of this great CEM book, Judy
Whipple, but you won't
notice her.
On to Clatskanie
Cem is SOUTH (East, backtrack?)  to 7th Street. Turn South (West, away from
the river any way)
on 7th, 2 blocks.


 Compiler of this stuff in Clatskanae is
CLARISSA MEYER, Clatskanie.
The only listed MEYER is Clatskanie is  S Meyer, 728-4571

Lying in bed, I realized I had missed a bet, so I am back.
MURRAY HILL CEMETERY, pages 32 to 54, has lots of people.
Caretaker is city of Clatskanie  City Hall  Records since 1932 only
HISTORY: The cemetery is on the homestead of Scottish-born Alexander H.
Mirray
and his Michigan-born wife, Clarinda.  They came to Clatskanie in 1864 and
farmed here with
their nine children. Their unmarried son, George, continued to live on the
homestead
until the city purchased the land for a cemetery in 1932. (Source : Obituary

DIRECTIONS: In Clatskanie, at traffic light at Nehalem st, drive south on
Nehalem
Street 0.5 miles, turn right on Conyers Creek Road.
At 0.8 miles from starting point is ag reen cemetery sign with an arrow
pointing right.
Turn right and follow the dead-end road to the cemetery.

Hugh Murray. son of A.H.&.Clarinda, was only person left to carry of
family name.  His wife, Georganna Conyers Murray is buried in
Warren.--must be near you.  They had 5 children of which 3 were men
named George, Albert, and Edward.  I
