Former owner of grocery store remembered Henry; said he had been married and was divorced. He suggested we contact the Rabinski families who also live in Dutch Canyon and and would have known him. Barbara interviewed the grocery store owner. =================================== Both Social Security Numbers indicate they applied for Social Security in the State of Oregon. George was taken to St. Helens Hospital, perhaps indicating he became ill while staying at Henry's farm in Scappoose. St Helens was the closer hospital. D.O.A. indicates he died before reaching hosp. =================================== Naturalization of their father would probably be found in Nebraska. The children were U.S. born. both in Lincoln. =================================== Parents: JOHN HERGENREDER , CHRISTINA BAUER THERE IS A JOHN HERGENREDER IN THE 1880 CENSUS OF CLARK CO. WASH. (which is just across river from Columbia Co. ALSO: Clark Co. Historical Soc. has a published Bible Record of a John Hergenreder family..... is it possible the family went (back) to Nebraska between 1880 and 1898 when sons were born??? NOTE: GLADYS CALLAHAN 33100 Callahan Rd, Scappoose, OR 97056 503-543-6591 has cemetery records, but I expect there is no additional information in those. We may be able to locate the farm, and if house still there could send you a picture of it if you want us to. Also if there are headstones at the cemetery we could take pictures there for you.
