Married 1st to Peter S BALLIET, Aug 20, 1871 at Benton County, Iowa. Married 2nd to David M WILKINSON, Sep 15, 1878 at Antelope County, Nebraska, David was born 1825 in Ohio. Searching for decendants of Alvin WILSON. He had a wife (Minnie) and a son (William b. l898) who traveled to Oregon with him after l900. I have found a death record for an Alvin WILSON who was killed in an accident Aug. l0, l928 ten miles north of Pendleton. This Alvin WILSON was listed as being single but the person giving the information apparently did not know him well as there was no other information given. Alvin WILSON was my gr. grandfather. He left my grandmother in Texas and she never heard from him again, directly. His wife was my grandmother's stepmother and William was a half brother . Alvin WILSON was born in Tennessee. The l900 census gave conflicting information on his age but I believe he was born between l868 and l87l. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.

Esther M. SHOLEN (SHOLIN), age 20, is listed in the 1920 Federal Census as living in Hermiston (?), Umatilla Co. She apparently lived in a rooming house and was a teacher. Is there a way I can find employment records on her? Does the town have a city or county directory for 1921 (since they are usually a year out of date when published) where I might find her listed? Does anyone remember her? Perhaps an old report card bears her signature...

I am seeking any information on: James Valentine PIERCE b.1812/1814 in Stokes co.,North Carolina or Illinois. He first arrived in Oregon at "the Dalles" in Wasco county. He went to Umatilla county and then spent most of his years in Grant county, in Canyon City and John Day. James was a circuit riding preacher on the old Military Road out of "the Dalles" for awhile. He was a staunch follower of the Campbellite faith which in later years came to be known as "First Christian Church". James married (where? and Who?) They divorced and as near as I can tell, James raised the children. His wife stayed in Oregon, remarried and supposedly raised a large family but no one knows who she was and none of the children by James put her name or place of birth on any records. It is said that they had six children, three who lived to adulthood. They were: Mary b. abt 1845 m. William Waters COX in "the Dalles" Oregon in 1863.... Andrew Jackson PIERCE b. 1854 m. Eliza FRY 1879.. and Mathilda, supposedly the "fifth" daughter . I need the parents of James, any siblings and would love to make contact with any living cousins".
