GERKING, SCOTT, WAGGONER posted by Ceridwen Attwood on Monday, February 9, 1998

SCOTT, Martha Jay (WAGGONER) I do not have dates for this lady. Her husband was named Andrew SCOTT. She had a son, William Henry Harrison SCOTT, who was born 1841 in Monterey Co. Illinois. She was still living in 1880; her son's wife died that year in Athena and Martha raised William Henry Harrrison SCOTT'S Children after his wife's death. (The Wife's name was Mary Margaret GERKING.) William died in 1908; both he & Mary are buried in the cemetery in Athena. William's obituary states that he (& family, presumably) moved to Umatilla Co. in 1872, where he took up a homestead on Gerking Flat west of Athena. I am trying to find birth & death dates for Martha Jay (WAGGONER) SCOTT, and any other information about her that may be available.
