CARDING, HARDEN, SHELTON posted by Cassie Shelton on Sunday, May 2, 1999: I am looking for any information on Hawkins SHELTON and his wife Amanda CARDING or HARDEN. Hawkins was born in Kentucky and Amanda is from Missouri. Both ended up West and married on 18 March 1856 in Jackson County, Oregon. They then headed to Umatilla County and farmed until showing up in Star, Idaho in the 1860s. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

We believe that he died in Umatilla County (in or around Pendleton) in 1942. Is there a way to find where he may be buried? If there are any living relatives we hope that you will contact us. HAGEN, JONES posted by Dorman on Friday, June 4, 1999: My grandfather, Robert Lee JONES was born in Oregon, Umatilla Co., near Walla Walla, WA in about 1879. He had a sister named Sarah who may have been born there also. His father was John W. JONES and his mother was Alice HAGEN JONES. I don't know when they came west. They later moved to Bradley, California where John was a sheriff's deputy or constable and owned the local saloon. He was killed in a horse/buggy accident. All of this happened before 1911, when my mother was born in Bradley.

KUTCH, MOSS, SCOTT posted by Liz DuBois on Wednesday, June 30, 1999: Searching for information on Jacob SCOTT. He was b. @1830 in KY, married Delilah MOSS in 1841 in Putnam County, Missouri. After Delilah died in 1863, Jacob married Eleanor KUTCH and they came to Oregon by covered wagon in 1866, settling first in the Weston, Umatilla Co., and then moving to the Basket Mountain where Jacob died on 1906. His parents' names are believed to be John and Elizabeth SCOTT.

ALLISTER, HENDRICKS, OSTERMAN posted by George D. Hudson on Monday, July 5, 1999: I am seeking any information on my grandfather, Allen Bell HENDRICKS, or other members of his family. Allen Bell HENDRICKS was born March 4, 1892, in Athena, Umatilla Co., Oregon. His father was David HENDRICKS & his mother maiden name was MC ALLISTER. I don't know the first name of his mother. His younger siblings were Hazel "Jack" HENDRICKS, Julian HENDRICKS and Anita HENDRICKS. Anita later married and became Anita OSTERMAN. Allen HENDRICKS left home as a young teenager and didn't make recontact with his family until the 1940s. My mother (deceased) never allowed me to ask my grandfather (deceased) about the circumstances of why he had runaway and the HENDRICKS family was never talked about. So, now I'm trying to put the pieces together and possibly meet lost cousins. Thank You,

Family moved to Umatilla Co., Oregon / Walla Walla Co., Washington c 1866. Children born there were Henry abt 1867, Francis abt 1869, and Emma Louise 11 Oct 1869 in Walla Walla Co., Washington. Emma married Daniel Frank BROWN 24 Oct 1886 in Umatilla Co., OR.
