A repost of a 1998 post on surnames RAE, REA, and FILES. I'm still looking for information on my 2nd-gr-grandfather, William RAE/REA (spelled both ways in records). According to his son's death cert, William was born in Liverpool, England. He shows up in 1875 in Walla Walla, Washington, where he married Sarah Elizabeth FILES on March 31. The marriage listing said that William was "of Umatilla County, Oregon." I know nothing of William's parents, siblings, or any other details of immigration. Any information on REA or RAE families in Umatilla County 1870's or later, would be appreciated. Any information on REAs or RAEs immigration from Liverpool would also be helpful. Thanks,

Glena Mary ROTHROCK (1902-1977) married William Marshall (went by Marshall) BREWER (1897-1973) and they lived in or near Milton-Freewater, Umatilla County, Oregon. Glena (went by Mary?) was the daughter of James Noah ROTHROCK (1866-1939) and Mary E. WIDNER (1870-???) who lived in Benton County, Arkansas. Glena and Marshall are buried at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Milton-Freewater. Cousins in Arkansas and Oklahoma thought they had two sons who owned vinyards or orchards near Milton-Freewater. Does anyone know this family or how to get in touch with the sons or grandchildren of Glena and Marshall? I am working on a huge ROTHROCK family tree.
