Baker County, Oregon School Newsletter
Several years ago when we were still living in Iowa, I was sent a copy of Darrell's BHS Newsletter, it has been great way to know where fellow classmates are, and what they are doing. This month after Darrell added our change of address I received phone calls from several classmates of 1959.
I asked Darrell about building a page to let others know about his project. This page is the result of his sharing with other classmates a way to keep up with old friends. Darrell does a great job of putting everything together and keeps us up to date on:
-
Harold Kirklan Memorial Fund, (Starting the 3rd year of a 12 year project)
-
Community Activities, Education Fund and the Carnegie Art Project, and what fellow classmates are doing.
-
In Memory, those who have passed, but attended school in Baker, whether they graduated or not, who have passed away.
-
Address and change of address for the readers.
-
Address keepers, not quite completed but will proved a person for each class that will keep the class address list current. (Think how much that will help reunions)
-
Real Mail, Darrell does the newsletter by mail, which is great, something I don't get very often anymore.
Darrell gives his time to the readers as a way of saying "thanks for the memories." For the pleasure we received reading and finding old classmates, we can say thanks by sending him a book of stamps, or box of envelopes, or even a box of paper. Now I know he is going to say that isn't necessary, but sometimes we just have to do things that aren't necessary. Sorry Darrell "the spirit moved me to say that!"
