HODGES posted by Jim Cook on Monday, September 1, 1997

I am trying to track down more info on Charles Hubbell HODGES who was a teacher/missionary for the Makah Indian Reservation (1873-1874). I know that he and his wife Annie were in Umatilla county on June 3, 1889 (they signed a deed for the sale of their property in Columbia City, Oregon). I cannot account for his whereabouts from 1884, when he was in Columbia City, Oregon til 1897, when he was in Smoke Run, Pennsylvania. It is probable that he worked as a teacher or missionary in Umatilla County and may have had some connection with the reservation. He may have been mentioned in Umatilla County School Super. records. Any info or recommendations you could provide would be appreciated.
